Yikes I have been SLACKING with my Phillies posts, meh. Life has been hectic what can I say?

One thing that's been good throughout these crazy couple of days is the Phillies! They have been HOT, and it's been a really nice sight to see during all the stress that life can bring at times.

After the Phillies were swept by the Mets fairly recently in a three game series, the Phillies responded in a big way on Thursday by completing the always difficult FOUR game sweep! It wasn't easy either as the boys had to overcome a 4-0 deficit early on. Otto Kemp homered and had 3 RBI, Bryce Harper drove in two runs of his own as the Phillies got the job done 6-4. Jesús Luzardo showed fantastic perseverance after giving up four initial runs. He ended up lasting eight innings and struck out eight batters on his way to capturing his 14th win! Luzardo has been WAY more consistent the past month and a half or so!

Yesterday the Phillies began a series against the Royals of the American League and got the job done 8-2! Bryce Harper hit his 26th homer, and Harrison Bader continues to be clutch as ever. Bader is becoming a fan favorite! Let's hope he can stay hot into the playoffs. Also, Walker Buehler made his debut and threw a quality five innings! Perhaps he will be very useful as well!

At this point the NL East is pretty wrapped up unless the Phillies have a historically awful collapse as the Phillies have a 12 game lead in the NL East!! With only 14 games left, I like the team's chances indeed! The Phils are 88-60 and they could even still capture 100 wins if all goes well! The Mets are actually SUPER close to missing the playoffs completely at this point!

Taijuan Walker on the mound tonight! Titans tomorrow, not too shabby!
