The Phillies only played five days ago, but man I did miss watching them play every day! The All-Star festivities were nice, and Kyle Schwarber won All-Star Game MVP thanks to his clutch performance in the swing-off! Too cool! Schwarber has such pure, natural power it's really unbelievable sometimes. Schwarber is recognized pretty well around baseball but sometimes I feel like he's still underrated! He has strong on-base skills, is a great team leader, and can be seriously clutch. Glad to see him get some well-deserved spotlight!

Yes well the Phillies make their return tonight and I am glad. They managed to scratch and claw their way to a 2-1 win on Sunday over the Padres and avoided getting swept which was nice!

They say this is the half-way point of the season, but really we are practically sixty percent done! Time FLIES. Football will be here before we know it. Each game is getting increasingly important. While the Phillies will likely make the playoffs, they still can't be complacent. Anything is possible and I'm sure several teams that are off most people's radars will make a late season playoff push. As of now, the Phillies hold first place in the NL East by only a half game over the Mets.

The Angels come over from the west coast to compete against Jesús Luzardo who has a nice 8-5 record. Hopefully he can keep stacking those wins. He could have a nice record if he keeps pushing the rest of the way!

Hopefully this rest was beneficial for the squad. The Phillies are one of the older rosters in baseball so any rest helps. Hopefully Harper is ready too after his wrist injury slowed him down for a bit.

I'm SOOOO ready for some baseball!
