Phillies manage to bounce back vs Diamondbacks | Zach Pop on the mound today for series deciding game
Phillies snapped their three game losing streak thank goodness with a solid 4-3 victory. It was another suspenseful game but I'll take it. The offense came basically off the bats of Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, as they hit back to back homers in the third. Schwarber hit a three run bomb and then Harper tacked on another run with a solo shot of his own. The stars carried the team in that regard, that's what they get paid for! The offense still looks a bit sluggish as they only managed five hits all game but, I'll take some good luck for once!
Taijuan Walker had his best outing of the season at just the right time. He started off shaky and it looked like it might be yet another awful outing. But he settled down nicely and only allowed two runs in five innings. I'm happy for him! He needed that and the team needed that. Manager Rob Thomson used the bullpen excellently and they did a solid job the rest of the way. It's great to see Orion Kerkering back.
The Phillies are back at .500 with a chance to get back above it, and win this series! Andrew Painter is not going to make his third start as he has a migraine. Zach Pop is due to start in what appears to be a bullpen game if I had to guess.
Let's get it done, the weather is ideal in Philly!
