Phillies lose 6-4 to the Nats Sunday, start a BIG series vs Atlanta today + A.D. Hammer RTTS Part 20

Sunday for the Phillies did not quite go as planned as they missed out on an opportunity to secure an awesome four game sweep of the Nats. No major complaints from me, it was a well played game by both sides.

Bryce Harper and J.T. Realmuto both sat out of the game Sunday simply to get some rest. Hopefully the rest will benefit them as the Phillies prepare to play a big series against the Braves later today. A rest day seemed to really benefit Trea Turner the other day, hopefully Bryce and J.T. can get hot as well.

Despite the loss to the Nats, the Phillies feel like they're finally warming up after playing ice cold for awhile. The timing is pretty awesome considering the series against the Braves is upon us.

The Braves are not too far behind the Phils in the NL East these days. They trail the Phillies seven games. The Braves are surely licking their chops to get back into the division race as they are barely in the third wild card position.

It does not take a math wiz to point out that if the Braves were to somehow sweep the Phillies, the lead would only be four and yeah, that would be a nightmare scenario.

OF COURSE, if the Phillies were to sweep the Braves, it would be amazing. It'd be a borderline critical hit for the Braves. Burying the Braves would be beautiful.

The Braves will likely be playing the Phillies with playoff energy tonight. Let's hope the Phillies are up for this battle!

Wheeler takes the mound for the Phillies today. It will be oddly cool for an August day in Philly, but not uncomfortably so. Low 70's high 60's.

Looking forward to this one.

GO PHILS!
