Whew, yesterday was a tough game for the Phillies against a scrappy and prideful Braves team. The Phillies ended up seeing victory though thanks to a clutch, well played fifth inning by the Phillies and of course another excellent outing by Ranger Suárez. Suárez is now 7-2 with super clean 2.00 ERA. The guy has been ridiculously consistent in 2025 and I hope he continues to dominate.

The Phillies offense was slow again in the 2-1 win but they did just enough to reward Ranger's excellent performance with a win. The fifth inning was just beautiful from an offensive perspective. Stott singled, Kemp hit a sweet double down the line, Stott scored from first to tie the game. Marsh sacrifice bunted perfectly moving Kemp over to third, Turner hit a sacrifice fly with Kemp scoring to take the lead. Amazing team work and execution. Obviously you want your team to score ten runs a night, but in a tight game like that, it was impressive to see them be dynamic and clutch and play some old school fundamental small ball.

Tonight the competition remains very stiff as the San Diego Padres come to Philadelphia for a three game series. The Padres are just a game out of the last Wild Card spot while the Phillies only hold onto a 1.5 game lead in the NL East. The Phillies also seek their 50th win of the season in front of their fans.

So yeah all in all this is a pretty big game on the final night of June. There could be storms in the area midway through the game and so we shall see how that goes.
