Phillies finally get a win, and they do so in thrilling fashion! Walk-off in extras! + A.D. Hammer RTTS Part 63
My oh my I almost forgot how to write about a victory! I was sort of lost as I approached writing this post, but that's silly! I'm so happy about last night's victory!
It really all came together yesterday for the Phillies. Wheeler came back and pitched well, and the bottom of the lineup/bench guys really came through. Most notably newcomer Otto Kemp finally showed up and showed out! He had a some huge hits and a massive bunt as well! Kemp seems to have some potential, lets hope this game really sparks something in him.
This game was super close all game long and it took eleven innings to get the job done. The Cubs took a one run lead in the top of the eleventh and Brandon Marsh came through and hit an absolute ROPE with the BASES LOADED and the walk-off hit! Otto Kemp and Brandon Marsh the heroes baby!! Let's go! What a moment, I couldn't stop smiling. It's been a serious struggle, and one win doesn't change everything but ya gotta start somewhere!
Marsh was pumped after that walk-off! Must be an incredible feeling doing that at Citizens Bank Park.

Mick Abel on the mound for Game 2. Cubs are gonna try to come back strong today, lets see how this goes!
baseball is a great sport because it is the only one I can think of where half of the team, if they weren't in uniform would just seem like biker bar hanger outers or homeless people. I love the swagger of this new crew.
I realize that the chewing tobacco is now banned on TV but certainly all of these guys still do that stuff off camera. I know this is not related to exactly what your post was about but that photo of the bearded dude shouting made me think of both :)
Oh yes I'm sure they're still doing it as well! No doubt about it! Everyone is a health expert these days I swear hahaha. If they aren't chewing tobacco, they're doing those nicotine pouches for sure lol!
I thought the sport was more real when they had dudes out there spitting massive clods of baccy into buckets on the sidelines. I knew guys that did "dip" in high school and while I never took to it, I thought it was kind of funny that if you played baseball you dipped. No other sport was like this. It must be the amount of sitting around that you do in baseball, I can't imagine that really working out on the basketball court.
Very true, it was engrained and likely still is engrained with baseball for sure. Yeah that would definitely be a scene if basketball guys were dipping in doors and then tossing an alley oop hahaha. I had several baseball coaches with rough looking Gatorade bottles they'd abuse hahaha. Even a couple of football coaches. Yeah it's probably just a tick/satisfactory thing. Sunflower seeds and bubble gum were always staples as well in baseball! It's pretty interesting how those things catch on for sure! Haven't thought about these things in awhile! Maybe it'll come back around who knows lol
