After a semi-hectic day for me yesterday evening, this 1:05 game this afternoon came rather quick, but I am not complaining! It's a beautiful day for some baseball in the Philadelphia area and Hive is a great opportunity to yap about the Fightins and maybe earn a few cents wile doing so! Pretty good deal as far as I'm concerned.

Yesterday's game was actually fairly back and forth until the Cubs finally took a substantial lead in the eighth inning. The Cubs had 13 hits, and the Phils had 10 of their own. So a pretty entertaining game for sure despite the loss. Max Kepler homered for the Phillies. The Cubs totaled four home runs themselves, with Ian Happ going yard twice.

Rookie Phillies pitcher Mick Abel got hit around pretty good yesterday and only lasted four innings. The bullpen didn't fair much better.

While Monday's win was excellent, getting out of a slump is not always easy. The Phillies only have two wins in the month of June. But they can secure their first series win in awhile today and enjoy their day off tomorrow a little better.

The Cubs are a dangerous team, it won't be easy. As I mentioned though, the weather in the Philly area is pretty perfect, seems like a great day to enjoy some baseball at Citizens Bank Park. Wish I was there.
