Phillies defeat Diamondbacks 3-2 last night | Nola on the mound for Game 2

The Phillies got themselves a nice clean win last night. Of course I suppose a more dominant 10-0 victory is arguably more impressive. But I liked the composure and resilience the squad showed yesterday. The game was low scoring, but competitive. Both the Phils and D-Backs looked evenly matched throughout. After trading singular runs in random innings, it was a 2-1 game in the seventh when both Kyle Schwarber and Max Kepler hit solo shots to take the 3-2 lead and eventually the Phillies would win by that same score. The Phillies needed offense and provided just enough of it. Great game. My boss was there and I'm glad he got to see a good game.

After the completion of tonight's game, the Phillies will have completed twenty percent of their season already. As of now the Phillies are in second in the NL East, trailing the Mets by three and a half games. They are currently in the third Wild Card spot but just barely. Interestingly my second team, the Athletics, are doing quite well with a 18-15 record. Pretty cool. It would be amazing to see a Phillies-Athletics World Series!!!

Anyway, Nola on the mound tonight. Let's see if he can show some consistency!

#GOPHILS!!
