The Phillies looked ready to prove a point after getting embarrassed in their disastrous series against the Mets. The Phillies scored 8 runs in that series including a shutout in the final game.
Well, yesterday the Phillies acted like that series was a glitch or lag and they just spazzed to score 19 runs!!
As I mentioned above, practically half of those runs were thanks to Kyle Schwarber!! He becomes the 21st player to ever hit four homers in an MLB game, the fourth Phillies ever! The last three Phillies did it in 1896, 1936, and 1976! Crazy!!! What a time to be alive. Schwarber is a homer shy of 50 homers and ten shy of breaking Ryan Howard's franchise record of 58. MVP chants are only getting louder. Every other Phillie starter had a hit last night and Harrison Bader is heating up big time!
It's rare a single game can help you forget about an entire series but the Phillies kind of did that especially since the Mets LOST to the Marlins and the Phillies are back up five games in the N.L. East!
Crazy times indeed, hopefully the Phillies don't decide to have an off day after such an explosion of offense. I'll take a win however though. But yesterday was SPECIAL. In Philly too!
