Denver Broncos AT Seattle Seahawks Game Preview! - NFL Week 1 Monday Night Football

Wow, right off the bat in week one, former Seahawk legend Russell Wilson faces his old team IN Seattle as a member of the Denver Broncos. Just a few months ago, and for a full decade prior, Wilson was a Seahawk. Many Seahawks fans probably thought Wilson would retire in Seattle. Life comes at ya pretty quick sometimes.

As a Seahawk, Wilson brought Seattle their one and only Super Bowl Championship, and nearly won TWO championships in a row! Had they just given the ball to Marshawn....

Funny enough, Wilson and the Seahawks won their Super Bowl against the Broncos. Now he enters Seattle this Monday wearing a Broncos uniform.

The simple fact that Russ will be IN Seattle in his very first game as a Bronco is just insane. The whole thing is insane really. I wonder how the fans will treat him? I'm guessing they will be nice, but man, I won't be surprised to hear some boos mixed in as well.

I could write about how crazy Russ going to Seattle as an opponent is all day, but there is another team in this situation as well.

The Seahawks are attempting to figure out life without Russell Wilson for the first time since 2011. They are pretty much without a legit quarterback in my opinion and are deciding to ride out with career backup Geno Smith. They do have former Bronco Drew Lock as well, but he lost the QB competition to Smith. This is certainly Smith's final shot at being a starter at 31 years old. As much as I sort of doubt his ability to be the long term answer in Seattle, it would be cool to see him take advantage of his opportunity. A real underdog story.

Seattle still has a savage at wide receiver in D.K. Metcalf and a savage at safety in Jamal Adams. Head Coach Pete Carroll is a solid coach as well. So perhaps Seattle could make some noise in a weak NFC Conference.

Anything is possible.

Overall I think Seattle is outmatched in this one. I think the team and fans up in Seattle will be NUTS and perhaps that could provide some momentum for the Seahawks. But eventually I believe talent will overwhelm them in the end.

I got the Broncos winning, 23-13.

How do you see this game going down? Will the fans be a factor? How will they treat Russ?
