A's show tremendous fight with a thrilling comeback, extra innings victory vs White Sox! | Jeffrey Springs on the mound for series deciding third game
Yesterday's game was actually a movie. Seriously.
For a second consecutive start, Luis Severino gives up a chunky bit of runs very early in the game before settling down. Severino gave up a daunting five runs in the second inning and it looked like the game was over before it even started.
But the A's had eight innings to work with, and work with them they did. Well, it turns out they had a few more innings than eight but, you know what I mean.
I'm really not kidding when I say the game was a movie. Just looking at the box score tells a lot of the story quite frankly. After the White Sox scored their five, the A's chipped away, slowly but surely. In the second, third, fifth, and sixth innings the A's scored a single solitary run. Truly unbelievable and really impressive to watch. This made the game 5-4.
Munetaka Murakami then hit a solo shot for the White Sox that was rather unfortunate in the seventh. This dude looks like he's about to take the league by storm.
But then BIG AMISH Nick Kurtz did BIG things as he launched a two-run missile that tied the game 6-6!!! Nick Kurtz is the man!

The game went into extras when finally in the 11th inning, the A's won via a sac fly.
SHEESH. That was such a rollercoaster. The White Sox had chances to extend the lead on multiple occasions and even threatened to score in extras pretty frequently. But the A's hung in there and just kept battling. Props to the bullpen. This is a victory I won't soon forget.
Jeffrey Springs is expected to pitch for the A's in the rubber match tomorrow. This White Sox offense has been really solid and they'll of course be wanting to win. Springs is off to a fantastic start to his season but tomorrow will be a big test! I hope he gets it done to go 4-0!
Should be fun!
