A's manage to tie up series vs Cardinals! | Jacob Lopez on the mound today
Yesterday was a lot of fun once again! The A's offense took a few innings to get going but once it did, they started off the scoring in a big way! Nick Kurtz smacks a grand slam in the fifth which made the game 4-1! The game was sort of over from that point on as the A's would go on to win 6-2. Man, the grand slam is one of the most exciting plays in sports for sure. As a kid I almost had two. Once I was thrown out at home because I rounded the bases like crazy due to baserunning inexperience, I was certainly fast enough. Then the second one almost went over the fence but it was just a bases clearing triple. Good times though!
Nick Kurtz now has three grand slams in his short career! That's pretty amazing!

Rookie Henry Bolte made his debut in center field yesterday. He was absolutely crushing it in AAA and looks ready to crush it in the bigs! He was outstanding going 2 for 2 including hitting a single in his first pro at-bat. He also had an RBI and walked. In addition he made a wicked great diving play in the outfield! Bolte doesn't turn 23 until August 4th, so hopefully the A's have another great player for the next decade plus!

J.T. Ginn pitched really strong for the second consecutive outing. Both times against good offensive teams in the Phillies and now the Cardinals. Ginn pitched six innings allowed nine hits but somehow didn't allow a single run. Let's hope he's finding his stride now!
The struggling Jacob Lopez takes the mound today to try help the A's win this series! Let's hope Lopez can start turning it around!
