76ers lose a close one to Lakers on Sunday, Pacers visit tonight
Well, it's been ages since the Sixers played. At least this next game is on a Friday, pretty nice way to end the week.
Sunday's game against the Lakers didn't go the Sixers way. LeBron went off for 29 points including several very clutch shots to secure the Lakers win. Luka had a 31 point triple double with an absurd 15 rebounds. Joel Embiid played but was pretty awful, shooting an insane 4/21 from the field. Despite this horrible recipe the Sixers were in it until the end and only lost by four points.
Honestly I'm not too discouraged by the loss for some reason. Joel playing bad was not great but I feel as though he'll bounce back. This was a pretty big game for Joel as the world was watching. Many people assume Joel is all but washed up and I feel as if the pressure got to him a bit and maybe he will be inspired to play at higher level when he does play going forward.
The 'Big Three' for the Sixers will be playing tonight and every game together helps. Either they start clicking together, or we discover this won't work. Them playing more consistently together will help figure this all out one way or another.
After a tough Lakers matchup, the struggling Pacers will be in town tonight. I honestly feel bad for the Pacers and their fans. After tasting a near Finals victory, they lose Tyrese Haliburton for the season and are 6-18. Rough.
But I don't feel that bad, at least not tonight HA. The Sixers need to take care of these lesser teams and just stay locked in and grab win fourteen. They are clinging to the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. Teams 3-5 all have fifteen wins and so grabbing this victory tonight will be huge to keep pace.
Looking forward to some Sixers basketball finally.
