76ers get a much needed win over the Nets, look to make it two straight vs Trail Blazers

The Sixers won an ugly game yesterday. I call it ugly because they had a lead as high as 28 but they still needed to clutch up as the Nets took a one point lead in the fourth.

Nevertheless, I'll take an ugly win over a loss any day of the week, especially considering how utterly injured this roster is. One more game closer to being healthy, hopefully. Quentin Grimes had an outstanding game. Grimes recorded 28 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal. Grimes is having a respectable season, averaging 13.2 points a game, and his availability has been great, appearing in 61 games which means he's missed only 6 games in 2025-26.

Speaking of availability, Joel Embiid reached a rather sad milestone. Since he won't be playing again tonight, he's officially missed half of his total possible regular season games. He's played in 485, and missed 485. Ugh. This shouldn't shock anyone though. I keep hearing rumors he'll be back soon, but who knows, and if he does come back, I'm skeptical it will be for very long. Just hope he plays in the playoffs.

Despite the up and down season the Sixers are having, they are actually still very much alive in the Eastern Conference standings they're just 2.5 games behind the Orlando Magic who sit as the fifth seed, and the Sixers hold the tiebreaker over them as well.

Tonight's game vs the Trailblazers is sorta winnable but, it will ultimately be very difficult. I give the Sixers a 20% chance of victory. The Trail Blazers are 10th in the West, while that's the lowest possible play-in spot, they are firmly in that spot, as they hold a healthy 8.5 game lead over the 11th seed Memphis Grizzlies.

The boys gotta just take it one game at a time! Hold the fort down until the squad gets healthier.
