My Introductory post

Hello Hivians,

I'm glad to be part of this great family, I go by the name Karim Samuel but friends call me Oxygen. So this is great news to every hivians because I am here with abundant of oxygen... :)

I am from the S. Western part of Nigeria, Ondo State to be precise, a student of Geography from Obafemi Awolowo University, currently in 400 Level, and by the special grace of God I will be certified as a Geographer by the end of this year.

How I Find My Way Into Blockchain Platforms

My journey into blockchain platforms dated back to 2017 with steemit, a friend of mine who noticed my creative writing came to me that faithful day and told me there is a platform out there that can pay me for every of my creative work. I must tell you that I was so glad to hear about that because I can't wait to showcase my content to many people across the globe. I met @Stephennevets who did everything right to put me through on how things work but my experience on steemit is not something I always love to talk about because I find it hard to survive there before I switched to Scorum.

After joining Scorum, I started showing my writing skills in sport-related articles and some creative writing and I must tell you, that helped me to improve in my writing before joining Uptrennd where I met a lot of friends such as @Olasamuel and @Promzyelisha. After @Olasamuel noticed the way I always stand out with my content on Uptrennd, he told me Hive will be a better place for me to gain more visibility for my creative writing. I am fully aware that Hive separated from Steemit and that creates another fear of what I went through back in 2017 but after taking my time to look around, I can see the difference between Hive and Steemit is too obvious when it comes to rewarding quality content.

My Area of Specialization

Like I said earlier, I am a Geographer to be and as a subject that is so encompassing, it is divided into various areas such as GIS (Geographic Information System), Human Geography, Cartography, Hydrology, and Remote Sensing to mention just a few.

My interest as a Geographer lies in the area of Cartography because it deals with map production. It is the art, science, and technology of producing map because as an art, there are lots of evidence from earlier cartographer who embellished their work with all sort of lettering and color. As a science, cartography deals with data that comes from scientific disciplines like agricultural science, forestry, and many more. Cartography as technology deals with the use of different computer software. We are now in a world where map is very important in every of our day to day activities and below is proof of some of my work when it comes to map production.

You can also call me a florist as well because as someone who always appreciate the beauty of nature, i love taking flower shot whenever i spot any beautiful one.

My Philosophy of Life

I am someone who so much belief in humanism as a tool that we can use to shape our world for good and where everyone will live in peace and harmony. Just like Zig Ziglar said in one of his book that we can get whatever we want in life as long as we are ready to help others get what they want, I love helping people and that is where the name @Oxygen originated from.

My Hobby

There are many things I love doing outside my discipline, I love writing ( creative writing in most cases), playing football, playing games (football games), and many more but football is my best.

I am glad to be part of this great community once again and I can't wait to start meeting more friends and start supporting life with my writeup... :)
