As you can easily see in the title, my favorite horror movie is Sinister. And there is a reason for that.

I don't like horror movies.

I realized this when I was watchin Anabelle in a cinema. But how can this happen at this moment while I was already 15 years old. That's pretty late to discover what are my taste I think.

Before that I was regularly downloading and watching horror movies, most of time alone and that's probably why it took me so much time.

When I was watching it alone, I was laughing instead of being afraid because I don't know why but I can't feel concerned for what's happening in the story. Maybe because I find those things too big to be real so I can't really believe in the movie ? I don't know. But I think that most of time what makes me don't like this kind of movies is that I don't think those are actually good movies.

That's different for some of them. I really liked Rec1 and even the second. But the third was a real nightmare destroyed everything from the first ones.

Watching Anabelle made me realize I was laughing and making jokes while my friends were really scared. Ans they were judging me so hard after this.

Sinister is my favorite Horror movie because I think it IS a real good movie.

In the 5 first minutes of the movie I was feeling totally different from most of the other horror movies. This time I was already concerned about each characters and the problematics of the movie even before anything supernatural happens.

Even if this there wasn't a ghost or any spirit there would still be something interesting to show, great characters with real problems to solve in their lives. When I try to remember of the movie Anabelle, the only problems they have are because of the doll. But here the the child is having fear attack during the night, the dad already had alcohol issue and works too much.

But hey, that's not the plot of the movie !

When this new family comes in their new home that's not for nothing. The father writes investigation books. He make his own investigation to help the police to close a cold case. He already made a best seller and he's trying to do his next one.

The house they're just moving in is the house in which a family have been killed and one of the children is missing. The story is turning weird when the father discover a tape where where we can see the family being hanged at the tree in the middle or the garden. And supernatural things start to happen.

All the actors are really making an awesome job. Every reaction seem totally natural and I really feel what they feel ! I was really scared when watching this movie !

I Usually don't like Ethan Hawk that much but he totally fits in that character. That's the best film I never saw with him.

I don't like ump scares. When something comes quick to the screen with a big sound. I really hated it in Paranormal Activity when there was a long loud sound that only stops when the jump scare happens. Here, there are subtle introduction to the jump scares, they don't happen for no reasons. And once again that only make them better.

The last time I saw it is also probably a reason why I like it so much. It's one of the first movies I watched with my current Girlfriend, in the middle of 2017, like 4 years ago. And I didn't see it since this moment and writing this post really activated my need to watch it soon !

All of that made Sinister my favorite horror movie ! If you like Horror movies and you never saw it you should absolutely give it a try ! If you don't like horror movies because you're easily scared... Don't, please don't.

If you have some horror movies you consider as really great horror movies, good enough to make me feel the characters emotions and feel like the story could be real, please do ! I would really love to find more ! The first Insidious is also on that list for me but the second is already too much for me.
