Damn, what a find.
It does make one wonder what Mr. Clarke had been up to and what the (probable) hardships were that he faced. Everyone has their own story, and this particular piece of history that you've found doesn't paint a positive one for the poor chap. Indeed, I do wonder where he is now, too.

I do wonder too. I do look them up sometimes but as this bloke has lived in more places than I have eaten hot dinners, he would be tough to track down.
