Play Centre Review - Kidsday Kids Cafe @ Meadowbank, Australia
Hi Everyone,
When you have a bunch of kids and don’t want to them to be cooped up indoors, we like to take them to the park or a play centre. This time we had 2 other families with us so we were not risking having 6 kids in the house so we decided to go for a quick place to get their energy out of the system then head home for lunch. The play centre we visited this time was Kidsday Kids Cafe which has a good reputation of being a clean and nice play centre. The kids were sold when they saw the picture of the mini train and Pororo (Korean cartoon character) who you may be able to see when you visit.
It was around 30 minutes drive from our place and we parked in the carpark very close to the play centre. Its an hourly charge so we paid for 2 hours so that the kids can enough time to try everything out. The 2 hour option also includes a train ticket which allows each kid to go on the train once during their stay. The first thing we noticed the place was very clean and bright. It was a bit smaller than expected but the kids didn’t care and they all ran in different directions. No shoes are allowed so remember to bring non slip socks or you can buy them at the front counter.
Now the mums and dads will need to find their kids amongst the other kids in the play room could be challenging. Tip is to get your kids to wear bright coloured clothing so you can spot them quickly and easily. Baby M is the runner so he had red on and Baby E striped. There were all sorts of activities from plastic balls with a cool slide, dress ups and supermarket game play.
The best thing I liked was the fishing game where you can fish for different things from the second level with the magnetic rod. It is pretty challenging and the kids had such a good time there. Honestly I was challenged by some of the items you can bring up and it was pretty clever how they built it. The highlight for the kids have to be the train. It wasn’t really big but the novelty of having a big train indoor was a hit for all the visitors.
If you get tired and hungry like us after the 1st hour, you can order something from their cafe which is pretty reasonable priced. Lots to choose from and mainly kids friendly food with lots of other food options for the parents. As the centre is managed by Korean staff, the menu also had a range of Korean meals which is a nice change from the usual nuggets and chips you get at other centres. I would go there again but avoid the weekends as it does get pretty busy. If you have a pram, all prams are parked outside nicely so there is plenty of room for everyone. Everyone had a great day and the kids were so burnt out they slept in the car and had some quiet time when we got home.
