Food Sharing #234 - Rashay’s @ Top Ryde, Australia

Hi Everyone,

Just before the lockdown, life was pretty normal with us starting to go out to each lunch every week. We came across Rashay’s at Top Ryde as we can’t decide what to eat as everyone wanted to have something on their own and Rashay’s provides a large range of food for their customers. From steaks, breakfast, kids meals, desserts, bakes and more. No brainer we decided to give it a go. The last time we visited a Rashay’s was a few years ago in the city so it will be nice to bring the kids there. Due to COVID alerts, we were still spaced out well between tables but we still prefer a table away from the kids area to avoid more foot traffic.

Let’s have a look at part of the menu. Lots of choices and meal deals. They even have a dedicated kids menu which my kids seemed to be pretty interested in and the prices are pretty reasonable. Best part kids eat free one day a week so if you visit on the designated date, kids are free of charge. You normally get that at local clubs but at a restaurant, that is pretty generous. We ordered steak with veggies, a breakfast set with hash browns and haloumi cheese and the kids ordered lasagna and sausages both with chips. The kids meal also comes with a drink which they were super excited about. We also ordered some coffees.

The food came very quickly as they had a very large kitchen and enough staff on the floor. I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the food presentation for the kids meals but the meal size was pretty substantial. Kids of course dived into the chips first and slowly moved onto their sausages and lasagna. My breakfast was actually really good paired with my favourite thick buttered toast. Great serving size and everything done well. Hubby’s steak was also cooked perfectly, the meat was not overcooked. The veggies with the meal was delicious with a hint of butter and garlic. The kids loved it in particular.

We had some left over from the kid’s meal so we took that away. The food was really nice and the price was very reasonable for what we got. The kids also able to get an activity book to keep them quiet for some time while we waited for the food. There was also a kids play area with an indoor equipment but due to the fear of getting sick, we didn’t let our kids go near there but there was quite a number of kids in that play area. Lots of seating and staff here, would go back if we can after lockdown.
