A Day Out At Greenwich Baths @ Greenwich, Australia

Hi Everyone,

Since the lockdown we haven’t really been out and about let along go outdoors to get some water time. A friend of ours mentioned that the Greenwich Baths are finally opened after months of closure due to COVID. We haven’t been to Greenwich Baths partly we have got a beach area closer to home but we decided to check it out since we are still within the distance limitation at the moment. Located in the lower north shore in Sydney, this small area has an entry fee for those over 3 years old. As we are still in lockdown, they have reduced the number of people allowed to enter at each time so we were prepared to probably wait a little at the gate.

Parking was easy as we got a spot very quickly. It was a few minutes walk to the gate so we started heading to the direction while I was holding our lunch bought from the local bakery. As we were walking towards the gate, we could see the beautiful view of the water and the other side of the city. We haven’t been to the city for so many months, the kids said they can’t wait to visit Darling Harbour again after the restrictions. Once we arrived at the gate, we saw a sign advising it was at max capacity and we had to wait in line until someone leaves the facility. We waited around 25 minutes and a few families were able to go in. Entry price was $3.30 for kids between 3-16 and adult ticket costs $4.40. We found a nice shady spot right near the water so we can see the kids from our resting area.

Like all family friendly beaches, there are rules they expect their visitors to follow to ensure everyone is safe. Without waiting, the boys already ran off to be in the water. I have been cooped up indoors for so long, they were hoping to get the most out of the visit. The water was still pretty cool although it was around 28 degrees today, I guess we still have the spring breeze coming in. There was also a toilet available but change rooms are closed due to COVID. A small tuck shop was also opened for drinks and ice cream purchases but social distancing rules still apply. It was such a lovely spot to be relaxing under the sun even with the small crowd due to being a school holiday. I believe all the other days it would be less busy so you could get a bit more room on the sand to yourself.

what is going on in australia? seems you guys are in a non stop lockdown. glad you found time to go out again and enjoy the water. A shame I did not know this place when I was there. still hoping that one day I can come back as I miss Australia a lot.

Sigh I am not sure but it feels like we are so far behind with vax and then covid hit and shit hits fan, and then going downhill from there. Just be glad you are not around when this is happening and somewhere else. I'm going crazy with homeschooling for the last term and another 3-4 weeks to go after this school holiday, hope I survive and don't get any more wrinkles and white hair from this hahahahaha

take care where ever you are now :)
