Hi Everyone,

As we haven't had a proper holiday for nearly 2 years due to COVID, we thought we would splurge a little and go during the school holidays (usually prices are crazy!) plus find a nice resort for our well deserved break. It wasn't cheap and it cost us a bit but staying at the JW Marriott was our first choice after reading great reviews about them from other families who have visited the resort recently. I did say we decided to splurge so we booked an ocean view room which was one of the highlights from staying there, waking up each morning to a nice view. Unfortunately this year, Australia's weather has been a bit crazy and we actually experienced 4 seasons during our stay there in the middle of summer! Yes imagine wearing winter gear in the middle of winter. Every morning I would take a picture of the weather outside as well as the water as a way of documenting our stay.

It started off with cyclone warning when we arrived. This means we cannot go to the beach and expect the rain and wind to come all at once. Fortunately, we were able to miss the cyclone but the surfs were too dangerous so the beaches were closed for the first few days. We can tell each morning that the waves were pretty crazy hence why it is not safe to be in the water. Then we had the usual summer weather of 30+ degrees and enjoyed the sun. By most nights, it gets pretty cool so we need to bring a light jacket when we go out for dinners. There was one night we had to wear a hoodie out each to keep ourselves warm and this is in the middle of summer in Australia. Finally I experienced cyclone rain twice while we were at the pool. One minute there was sun, the next minute, the wind and rain set in and it was too late to even run for cover. I was looking after the two kids at the pool while hubby was at the gym and at that time, my kids quickly tried to help clear up (they are so tiny but tried to best to help me) to the point I gave up and left all our belongings on the sun lounges and went for cover with our towels. From memory, I don't think I ever had experienced that before and literally the weather turned within 2 minutes and many people were caught off guard. None the less, it was great to get out of the house and enjoy some moments with the kids away from home.

It is good to work hard and play harder. That is really how to live.

I love the pictures of the beautiful city.

I love how without reading the description, I felt these photos showed the four seasons and guessed that they were infact from the same stay. Pretty stunning views.
