My worth/your worth
I knew I meant a lot to my boyfriend but not to the extent I realized today.
Umm! We had a little fight over the phone today and to calm me down, he said a lot of sweet things which actually inspired my writing.
You know! We girls are really emotional beings so you won't blame us for some of our misdemeanors lol.
It started with me misinterpreting what he said to me and saying he said I was dumb.
I told him that dumbness is a communicable disease so he shouldn't be with me or talk to me so I don't infect him with it (please don't gimme that look because I was pissed🥺).
The moment I said that, he got so displeased and asked me;
"Do you Know your WORTH"???
Just as expected I didn't answer that question and he went further to explain in detail that I am smart and special. I smiled a little on the inside but again the argument heated up and I finally told him I was done with the conversation.
There he told me that If I eventually hung up the phone, he would smash his phone to the ground. I asked him why on earth should he smash his expensive phone to the ground because of a dumb girl and he didn't hesitate to give me this answer.
"My phone ain't one percent of the world's wealth neither is the world's wealth one percent of your worth".
At this point I melted like ice melting in the sun. I felt safe and realized I was worth more than many sparrows according to the Holy Bible.
I'll tell you I felt loved, needed and just proud. I realized also at this point that the sun sets and rises every single day just so someone somewhere maybe me, maybe you could have another opportunity to figure out Worth.
Out of my misinterpretation, I wanted to give up on myself with the mindset that I'm dumb and useless but his sweet words gave me hope.
So many may not have someone to tell them how worthful and needed they are but just go take a look at the sun, rain, moon, stars, probably trees and the wind. Don't you think they are happy they exist? How much more "YOU" or "ME".
Seeing this things everyday give should serve as a reminder and us worth the celebration because another chance to discover something special is right in front of your face.
Every human is worth more than anyone could ever imagine.

A lot of people battle with low self esteem and coming here too I also felt less of myself. I kept telling my self what proof would be enough to show others that I had brains?. I kept feeling less until my tutor said something to me today. She gave me words of encouragement that sinked in my empty brain.
You're lucky. You have someone who's willing to do anything to show you just how much you're worth. I wish everybody in the world had that. If they did they'll be no more cases of suicide in the world.

Misinterpretation and misunderstanding happens I guess; to all humans. The dumb comment isn't very good though, I feel it's quite inappropriate in fact, emotionally destroying, in my humble opinion.
We sometimes disagree or argue with those we value and love however in my opinion we should never denigrate them or abuse them, verbally or otherwise no matter how angry we may become.
I hope you find your own true worth independently of others because validation, self-worth and a feeling of self-respect can only really come from within oneself. Once you have found and embraced that in yourself then others will begin to as you will negate their power to hurt you.
Try this: Go and look yourself in the mirror and say, I am worthy of respect and am a valid, positive person, three times out loud, with conviction. Do that twice a day, every day, and before long you'll start to believe it, and act accordingly, which will then mean you'll be less tolerant to other people's [usually false] opinions of you, or abuse.
Control the controllable things Teknon - That is, yourself.

I really do not care what anyone else out there says about me because I have this notion that says "you can't hurt me without my permission" and I really put this to practice but when it came from someone I care so much about and love that's where it hurted but then I figured it was just a misconception of my thoughts towards what he said.
There is no need to accept blame for someone else's poor behaviour; it is theirs to own, not yours.
