Life's a Beach - Enjoying the Beautiful Simplicity of the Australian Lifestyle

Today was an absolutely glorious day downunder, here in Australia. Over the past few months we have had extremely wet and humid weather, but over the past couple weeks the La Niña weather system has moved on and has been replaced by magnificent autumn weather. It took a while to arrive, but it has finally graced us with its presence. The next three months or so are by far my favourite in terms of weather.

Sunshine, Surf and Sunnies! Back to enjoying the beautiful simplicity of the Australian lifestyle! ☀️🌊😎

As our family approached the beach the big blue sky was out on full display. Speed boats were towing skiers, sailing boats were drifting by on the horizon and everyone was out strolling on the beach or walking their dogs.

What you do not experience from the photographs is just how perfect the temperature was today. Instead of a typical Aussie peak summer skin-scorcher day, the warmth of the sun today caressed the skin like a nice warm hug.

As far as the eye could see there were people out enjoying the weather. Lots of fisherman were out on the water waiting for that big one to bite. I have enjoyed many a fishing trip on my brother's boat in this exact location. This is one of our favourite spots to catch Longtail Tuna, also known as Northern Bluefin Tuna.

I will write a post in the future where I will share some fishing stories from our Tuna fishing excursions.

The La Niña weather system, has caused all sorts of havoc over the summer months here in Australia. Rain, rain and more rain, basically sums it up.

"The name La Niña originates from Spanish, meaning 'the little girl'. La Niña is characterized by increased rainfall and cloud cover." - source https://en.wikipedia.org/

That is the understatement of the year, more like an increase of torrential rainfall for months on end.

As frustrating as the summer months were this year, it has definitely made our family appreciate this beautiful weather even more. In Australia we often take for granted how lucky we are with our weather and stunning beaches. That is until we are unable to enjoy them for a while, then we quickly realise that we do live in the "Luck Country".

The great news is that tomorrow's weather forecast looks to be much like today, PERFECT! Perhaps another visit to the beach is on the cards, or maybe we'll have a lazy Sunday relaxing around the pool enjoying a beverage or two. Life's a beach, trying to decided how best to indulge in the Aussie lifestyle.

There has been one silver lining from all the rain over the summer months, everything is so green and luscious. Just look how amazingly green and healthy these beach plants are. On a side note, my lawn at home looks incredible. That reminds me I need to jump on my trusty John Deere ride-on-mower in the morning to keep it looking smicko! 🚜

Nature has its reasons for the whacky weather patterns we sometimes have to endure, but at the end of the day we just need to be grateful that we are alive, well and healthy. Being outside in the sunshine with the family today was medicine for my soul.

I felt inspired, revived and ready to tackle anything that life has to throw at me. I am even quite excited about doing the lawn tomorrow. My parting message as I conclude this post is, embrace your life, embrace your surroundings and embrace your family! It's a great way to live a joyous and happy life.
