A Tale Of A 1000 HIVE: Transport Business In The Bag

There is this wide saying that one needs to invest in his/her tomorrow.

Money is like air, it comes and go. But the fact of it going depend on how and why you let it go.

So typically, one is expected to tie money down with something or it flies like the wind and vanishes into thin air.

We also know that money is not easy to get but very easy to spend. If it takes you 5 hours to get 100$, you only need 10 minutes to finish that money.

It is not a magic but the nature of man in handling money. So those who have mastered this nature are the real investors who tie the money down with something worthwhile.

The above are the inspiration i have and give myself about money which explains why i still hold on to my dreams of having my own business no matter what.

Here in Lagos, Nigeria, transport business is a wonderful businesses. Many private car owners now use their cars to do Taxify and Uber.

This explains why it is a wonderful industry and one which people with insight invest in.

The Uber or Taxify business is my dream as this will make me stop working for someone and focus on my own business.

While i can't buy a car to do Uber or Taxify yet because it will cost me around 8000k HIVE to buy that. I can comfortably by a motorcycle, popularly called okada in Lagos, Nigeria.

With a 1000 HIVE i will get a tokunbo (fairly used) okada from a dealer friend. What i will do next is to get it registered and give it to a rider.

This rider will be in charge of the day to day running of the Okada. What i will get is what we call delivery. A delivery is a certain amount of money the rider pays daily for riding my okada. The delivery depend on the location/route.

For a busy location, the delivery can be 3000 naira daily (Around 9 HBD). For others, just 1500 naira daily (5 HBD).

This is not a small money if you look at it cumulatively. 97= 63 or 57= 35 HBD! That means extra 35 or 63 HBD weekly.

In a month, that is 140HBD (354) for 35 HBD weekly and 252 HBD (634) for 9 HBD weekly.

If we consider that it might need servicing in between, then maybe i will get 30HBD or 55 HBD.

Whichever way you look at it, that would be a plus to my earnings on HIVE and any other business i might be doing.

So that would literally be a dream becoming a reality. With dollar strength against naira, a thousand HIVE is a huge amount of money when converted to naira.

So i will simply delve into transportation business and manage it to see it grow!
