We certainly have run the gambit with weather in the Pacific Northwest!š³
Almost a foot of snow, then a bitter cold norāeaster winter storm plunged the temperatures down close to zero degrees Fahrenheit!š„¶
Then freezing rain, took down trees, and the electrical grid for daysā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦..
Then came what they are now calling an ā a atmospheric riverā!š®
Thatās a new terminology for Silvertop!š
What they are saying is expect a LOT of rain!š
The creeks were up, and the river was close to flooding, and then the rain pausedā¦ā¦..
The Nooksack river in the fifth photo was close to going over its banks, before the rain pausedā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦..
I put a āBeforeā, and āAfterā in the last two photos, they were taken less than five days apartā¦ā¦..š®
I think I will leave that snow shovel close by, itās still December Lol!

I am sure enough done with all this weirdness! I need a good long hike without the rain, the wind, the ice, the snow. Just some calm and sunny days with a cool temperature and lots of nature to see. You can come, honey, if you like, lol!šš¤š

The water in the river looks muddy, isn't it?
The river is very muddy. It is carrying lots of mud and silt from the mountainsā¦š³
It happens to us too. The river up to its mouth in the sea looks like coffee with creamer.
That sounds like a dangerous storm my friend, hopefully nobody gets near this river I'm sure there is a lot of undercurrents/undertows....

Hopefully the stones will protect the property and both sides. Flooding can be devastating.

Yes! It depends on the cement mixture.
Very true I have seen people make strong concrete and that I have seen some crumble away after a few years if they donāt know how to mix it properlyš®
Yeah. I saw one in a city where the river dike has collapsed because of strong current. Actually, it's also a form of corruption.
Thatās what happened where we live a couple years ago the water was so high that it broke through the dike and flooded some of the low land towns. It could happen so quickly, itās very dangerous!
Really? Too bad the dike was broken. It happened to a lot of places here.
Many of the homeowners down in the valley are very fearful that this will happen again this year. We are not quite out of the winter rains yetš¬
Hopefully it won't. I can imagine the fear.
Also, apparently, they have changed the regulations on the existing homes that flooded some are not allowed to be rebuilt, because of the chance of flooding in the future
Yeah. Maybe there needs to have relocation. Can government provide it for them?
At the moment no one wants to jump in and help including the government. I donāt know what theyāre all waiting forā¦ā¦.
