My Actifit Report Card: March 12 2022

Just look at the History beneath your feet!😊
They call these “ Heritage trees” ……….
Trees that have stood tall for well over 500 years.
The Mrs looked up a formula online that can estimate very closely the age of these giant Douglas Firs!
Silvertop had to climb on top of a stump of one of these old trees, the view was breathtaking!😄
Liz was looking forward to today, and a hike over the ridge top to Keith and Lynne’s new trails………Silvertop as well!🤗
I soon found out we had company……
check out @elizabethbit post she had stowaways in her backpack LOL!😇
Look close in the third photo, you can see at the bottom of this very old Heritage Fir tree where a steel cable has chewed through this majestic tree……….
almost cutting through the tree!😮
Not all loggers operate like our neighbor Westergreen……….
This logger used steel cables to anchor his crane to prevent tipping.
Two trees were illegally wrapped with the steel cable on adjacent privately owned land!
I guess they thought no one would notice!🤔
Fortunately this was discovered before the trees were killed!
New growth has started, take a look at last year’s “new growth” on the Fir in the fourth photo.☺️
Our friend Jan texted Liz to see if we were hiking. We were already on the ridge top, and Jan said “I’m starting uphill I will join you two!”😊
After meeting up with her, it was time to head back downhill.
It was good Jan got in a partial hike!
As the three of us started to approach our home road the rain started.
Good timing Liz, a nice hike!🥰
