Space Jam es una película que salió en 1996 que mezclaba a los Looney Tunes con Michael Jordan en una historia disparatada, el resultado funcionó y gustó a bastante público de la época. Después de más de 20 años Warner se atrevió a lanzar una continuación con LeBron James el año pasado. Su director es Malcolm D. Lee.
Space Jam is a movie that came out in 1996 that mixed the Looney Tunes with Michael Jordan in a crazy story, the result worked and was liked by many audiences at the time. After more than 20 years Warner dared to release a sequel with LeBron James last year. Its director is Malcolm D. Lee.
Sinopsis: LeBron James ha sido invitado a los estudios Warner, él va con su hijo, para proponerle realizar un videojuego con la más alta tecnología. LeBron rechaza la idea e incluso la tacha de tonta. Esto a la inteligencia artificial Al-G Ritmo, no le hace gracia, ella decide atrapar a LeBron y a su hijo Dominique en un mundo virtual. La única forma de escapar será mediante una partida de baloncesto, donde contará con la ayuda de los Looney Tunes.
Synopsis: LeBron James has been invited to Warner Studios, he goes with his son, to propose him to make a video game with the highest technology. LeBron rejects the idea and even calls it silly. This does not amuse the artificial intelligence Al-G Ritmo, he decides to trap LeBron and his son Dominique in a virtual world. The only way to escape will be through a game of basketball, where he will have the help of the Looney Tunes.
En la historia se muestra como su hijo Dominique si bien tiene un interés en el básquet, no es su pasión, sino el diseñar videojuegos. Esto le genera conflictos con su padre así como el desarrollar un juego de basquet distinto para la historia. Hay bastante comedia, jugando con los clásicos cortos animados de los Looney Tunes.
The story shows how his son Dominique, although he has an interest in basketball, it is not his passion, but designing video games. This creates conflict with his father as well as developing a different basketball game for the story. There is plenty of comedy, playing with the classic Looney Tunes animated shorts.
El problema que veo es que no llega a funcionar del todo, y creo que a diferencia de la película de 1996, no deja escenas memorables, ya que lo novedoso ya no es tanto. Se siente en falta más escenas en el mundo real, y su interacción con el mundo animado. Si bien hay bastante espectáculo para la partida de basquet, no hay un buen desarrollo en los enemigos, y el interés que suscita es poco. Tal vez habría funcionado desarrollar un nuevo personaje como lo fue Lola Bunny en la primera, o hacer algo totalmente distinto a la primera, no enfocada en un mundo virtual.
The problem I see is that it doesn't quite work, and I think that unlike the 1996 film, it leaves no memorable scenes, as the novelty is no longer so much. It feels lacking more scenes in the real world, and its interaction with the animated world. While there is enough spectacle for the basketball game, there is no good development in the enemies, and the interest it arouses is little. Perhaps it would have worked to develop a new character like Lola Bunny was in the first one, or to do something totally different from the first one, not focused on a virtual world.
La animación es correcta, y ver innumerables personajes de diversas franquicias es apabullante, lo malo es que hay poca interacción con los mismos. La música siento que esta en debe, en comparación a la primera. que creo nunca olvidaré su gran intro. La actuación es deficiente en muchos momentos.
The animation is correct, and seeing countless characters from various franchises is overwhelming, the bad thing is that there is little interaction with them. The music I feel is lacking, compared to the first one, which I think I will never forget its great intro. The acting is poor in many moments.
Al final acaba siendo una película para pasar el rato, con pocos momentos originales o memorables, con una trama con pocos riesgos. Aun así si te interesa ver a estos personajes juntos, puedes darle una oportunidad.
In the end it ends up being a movie to pass the time, with few original or memorable moments, with a plot with few risks. Still, if you're interested in seeing these characters together, you can give it a chance.

Hola, quería ver esta película desde hace tiempo y recientemente la vi mientras esperaba en un consultorio, para mi la antigua película es un clásico y coincido contigo en varios aspectos que mencionas en el post, aun así considero que ha sido un gran intento o forma de hacer honor a la primera película. Saludos.
I saw this movie at the time and it feels lacking, it doesn't have the magic and wit of the original which turned out to be a shame in my opinion.
