The Lady and the Celebrity

My country happens to be a country where everyday there is always one scandal or another. If it isn’t some politicians fighting themselves dirty then it will be about some celebrity doing something stupid. The news company and bloggers are definitely making it big over here because there’s always something to write about.

Today, I had woken up to yet another celebrity news. Apparently, a sex tape belonging to one very popular musician was leaked and the people on Twitter were having a field day with it. There was no way anyone would go on Twitter and miss it, it was all everyone was talking about.

While reading through all of the tweets, I saw one tweet that prompted me to make this post today. The lady had narrated a story about how the same celebrity whose tape was now everywhere online had sent a private message to a friend of hers and invited her over to the hotel where he was staying at the time. According to the lady telling the story, the celebrity wasted no time in making sexual advances towards her friend and that had irritated her friend and made her leave.

Everything the lady telling the story was saying at that point was making sense to me until she got to a part where she said her friend would have agreed to whatever the celebrity wanted if only he had offered her money and that the celebrity probably thought her friend was one of those “cheap girls” and that was where I lost it.

I proceeded to read the comments to see if anyone was thinking the same way I was and I found out everyone was. They all were furious at the fact that she would come out to say something like this at a time when the celebrity was going through a lot when she knew that her friend was not upset that the celebrity wanted to sleep with her but because he didn’t offer her money in exchange.

They had even gone ahead to hail the celebrity for not trying to force his way on her and instead he just allowed her to leave like a perfect gentleman.

The lady had made that post with the intention to further damage the celebrity’s image but ended up getting him praised by everyone.
