People Will Disappoint You

I honestly can't emphasize on this topic enough but the earlier we realise this, the better for us. It's the way of life, its meant to happen. You just have to try to be ready for when it happens so that it doesn't cause more damage that it should have.

I say this because I've had my own share of disappointments in life and I know a lot of you might say that it depends on the kind of people you have around you (because there are friends who will have your back until the very end) which is true, but you can't just eliminate the possibility of it not happening to you because when you do and it does happen, the disappointment would hurt way more than it should.

A friend called me a couple of days ago, asking me for some financial assistance which was really shocking to me. It was shocking because his cousin brother who they both used to live together (before my friend travelled to go stay with his mom for a little bit at the village) was out here spending money on gadgets and stuff. The dude was obviously in money.

When I asked him if he had asked his brother for money (because I honestly told him I didn't have much on me), he told me that his cousin brother no longer replies his text. This was two people who shared almost everything together when they were both broke. I remember how they both would try to cook the cheapest soup possible and how we would all laugh about the whole thing before marching down to the market to get those things.

When he told me what was now happening, I wasn't that much surprised because like I've said, I've experienced things like this myself though not with family (which I'm sure will hurt more compared to ordinary friends) but the whole thing just made me realize how messed up people can get.

What is even more messed up is that this same guy told another friend of ours that he plans on getting his girlfriend a new laptop and yet, his own brother is down there at the village, asking other people for help when he could help him. If something like this could happen between families, whose to say your friend won't do worse to you.

But then again, you might get lucky and never experience something like this but if you do, don't be so surprised.
