My Most Memorable Day

The moment I saw this weeks topic, only one memory came to my mind and I’m going to share that memory with you guys today.

You see, when I first gained admission into the university, my dad had called me one day and asked if I could sit at home one more year to allow my eldest brother finish with his university education first before I began mine, because he didn’t want the weights of having to pay two people’s tuition to be on him and I had pleaded with him to please let me go.

I remember clearly telling him that if I got to school, I will try to do everything possible to see if there was a way I could help reduce the whole weights on him by taking care of myself in school and he had listened to me.

My first year in school had been horrible. School is expensive and before you get into it, make sure you have a fat pocket or at least a plan to survive. By the time I returned home for the holidays, I had to stay indoors for more than a week because of how lean I looked due to the fact that I wasn’t eating much in school. One look at me and everyone would know that school had not be easy on me.

It was finally time for me to return to school for my second year and I got prepared. My mom made sure to fill my bags with enough foodstuff that I could carry. At least she wanted my first week back in school to be a nice one for me. I got back to school and at the same time I got serious on hive. One month later and it looked like this was going to be a good second year for me, hive was really helping and I was starting to pay for somethings in school myself.

Then on April 3rd a day to Easter Sunday, I made a phone call to fulfill the promise I made to my dad before I journeyed off to school, I called him and told him not to send any money to me from that day henceforth. I was going to take care of myself by myself. I remember my dad asking me if I was sure of what I was saying and I assured him that I was and it was all thanks to hive.

April 3rd is the most memorable day of my life.

amazing, I feel it, maybe not the same, even I can not go to college at all. economic factors and the high cost of education in my place that requires me to bury my dream of experiencing education in college.😊

You are great @prayzz 👏

Aww... What a fond memory.
There is nothing like the joy of being able to pay your bills and take care of yourself. It is simply inexplicable.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Your dad must have been so happy and felt proud of you.
Not all sons do that.
Well done.
