Love or Foolishness

Sometimes I look at the things happening around me to people who claim to be in relationships and all I do is shake my head in disbelief. The level of unfaithfulness is on a whole different level. If this was the way it was back in the days, then a lot of our fathers aren’t really our fathers because some years back there was nothing like DNA test.

The reason why I’m talking about people who are unfaithful today was because of the story one of my homeboy told me today about a girl who used to stay in the same hostel as us. She has this boyfriend who everyone knows is a serial cheat. Dude goes after almost anything in skirt. If we didn’t know any better, we would have thought he was cursed or something.

The thing about cheating is that if you do it all the time, then you’re bound to get caught someday and that was what happened to him. His girlfriend found out and confronted him about it. Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t a good liar or he probably couldn’t lie because she had made sure to gather enough evidence before confronting him.

That day, I and some of my hostel mate were the ones who broke up their fight. And just when we thought it was over, we had to go break up another fight downstairs. Yes, the lady the dude had cheated with was staying in the same hostel with us.

After that event, I had concluded that that was the end of the relationship but to my surprise, I saw the both of them holding hands and walking down the street the next day. I felt the dude must have been a smooth talker to have convinced her to forget about everything and continue with the relationship but when the same thing repeated itself more than three times, I became convinced that the dude was probably using voodoo on her because why will you be in a relationship with someone who continues to break your heart, is that love or foolishness?

Well they finally left our hostel for a new one, and I’m sure the dude still hasn’t changed. I guess whoever said love is blind was talking about these two.
