For the girl

You know how some of the guys in class sometimes do some really crazy or weird stunt just to impress a girl and make her like them, well I was one of those guys. But the truth is I wasn’t always like that, I was this cute kid who only spoke when he was being spoken to, or at least that was what the teacher thought. The rest of the class knew me as a classy class clown.

If you guys don’t know what a classy class clown is, just imagine the funny guy in class who unlike the other class clowns doesn’t do stupid things to be funny. I always respected myself and that earned me the respect and love I got from the rest of the class.

Anyways, it turned out that being a classy class clown had one disadvantage compared to the other type of class clowns, I wasn’t really popular outside of my class. My classmates knew me to be a comedian while the rest of the school saw me like an average student and one thing about an average student was that they didn’t get all the girls. So you see, there had to be something extra.

It was either you were funny, an athlete or probably very good at maths, whichever one it was, it just had to be there.

Well at the time, I didn’t know this so I continued my classy comedy until one afternoon when a junior student had walked into our class to have a word with my friend (he was very good at math). The moment I saw her, I knew I had to do something to impress her, anything and I had to do it quick.

So I started to think.

It was during the break period so a lot of my friends were outside playing so there was no one to give me an idea on what to do and that was when I decided to climb the desk. We had this really tall classmate (who was also a good friend of mine) but for some reason I felt making fun of his height at that moment would be really funny.

So I climbed the desk and started to tell the joke, while comparing his height as the same length with me being on the table and everyone started to laugh, I was killing it. I decided to take a quick glance at her to see if she was watching and that was when the table gave way and I fell hard, landing on both of my hands first before my feet touched the floor.

The moment I landed, I raised up my head just in time to see her moving her head away while the rest of the guys started to laugh. They weren’t laughing at my joke, they were laughing at the fact that I just humiliated myself, and that was when I felt it. The pain came with so much force almost as if it was embarrassed by what I just did. I had dislocated both of my arms but the place where I felt the pain the most was on my left wrist so I held it like it was going to fall off and shamelessly walked away to another class to go cry in peace.

I ended up missing school the next day because my left wrist became swollen and had to be bandaged. Of course I didn’t tell my mom about the pain on my right wrist because I felt it would be stupid if I had bandages on both of my arms and now I spend almost everyday regretting that decision because I occasionally feel pain on my right wrist from time to time.
