Today I want to share with you one of the greatest spectacles that nature gives us year after year, in our beloved Peninsula Valdés and the coasts of the Nuevo and San José gulfs.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes uno de los mayores espectáculos que la naturaleza nos regala año tras año, en nuestra querida Península Valdés y las costas de los golfos Nuevo y San José.

Peninsula Valdes and the waters that embrace it are one of the nine Petrimonies of Humanity declared by UNESCO. The Golfo Nuevo is a great whale sanctuary that receives more than 2,000 specimens of Southern Right Whales every year, which come here for reproductive purposes and to give birth to their calves. In these waters the whales acquire their basic knowledge to survive in the complex world of the oceans.

Life is short and we have many beautiful things to appreciate from nature and I believe that there are things that we should not deprive ourselves of enjoying if given the chance. Seeing these noble giants of the oceans you will be able to learn many things and I assure you that there is a before and after of this experience.

Beautiful place with some amazing views to catch ^^ .. It looks like a great and educative trip that you did there .. Looking at the skeletons always reminds me how close we all are located to each other in the evolutionary history. Especially the flippers of the whale look so similar to our hands .. Thank you for sharing this within AN ^^

Thank you very much for your words dear @adalger! We really planned the trip so that my daughter could see in person the beautiful show that takes place year after year on the shores of the New Gulf.

We not only did whale watching from the coast but also took the opportunity to visit several museums, in which we learned a lot.

As you say, the whales' fins have bones like a hand, which is why it is presumed that millions of years ago they were animals that could move around on land. There are many theories about the evolution of whales.

A beautiful journey, an inspiring place ideal to renew energies and enlarge our souls.

Wow! This is really cool, getting to see this frequently is awesome.
If I could recall you said there are about 2,000 specimen of southern Right Whale received in Golfo Nuevo, a great Whale Sanctuary? This place is indeed a centre of attraction. OMG! 😍🤣😂😅

Peninsula Valdes is one of the most beautiful places we find on our Patagonian coast. The waters of the New Gulf are ideal for the calving of the whales since its waters are very calm and deep.

They are practically not in danger here, although in the last few years pollution has been one of the big problems that have arisen in recent years.

This is a beautiful place for those who have the opportunity to visit.

Greetings

So amazing to see this! Those same Southern Right Whales are here right now in Hermanus, South Africa.
They cross the Atlantic ocean and come around the point at Cape Town to have their babies (calves) in Hermanus.
I have posted the moms and the babies last year and we will soon go to take pictures of them again.

A great post here my friend!

It is true! The Southern Right Whale travels from South Africa to Argentina year after year. They roam vast expanses of the South Atlantic.

An unforgettable spectacle that will remain engraved forever in our retinas.

Yes indeed and you are right.
There's a pod of them now at a place called Hermanus and I will soon go to get them on camera.
Do you guys also have penguins?

Blessings and !BEER

If we have a large penguin colony in Punta Tombo they arrive every year in mid-September and leave by early fall. The truth is that in the case of the penguins I don't know where they come from, but every year they arrive in droves. It is also one of the phenomena that attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world.

Some of your penguins might also come from hhere, but I don't think so, as September is the the start of our Spring season.
Maybe your penguins come from the countries that face the approaching winter.
Yeah, they are indeed crowd pullers also here.

An area to look down to see the whales breaching, how lucky you are to enjoy the annual swim past.

We see them passing along our coast, however in South Africa the best place for viewing is in the Cape, a town called Hermanus where you afforded the opportunity of good viewing of Southern Right whale.

Seeing them is extremely exciting. I am more than 600 km from Peninsula Valdes and yet every time we have the opportunity we go to see them.

Seeing them is very exciting, the spectacle they provide is thrilling. Who has not shed a tear when seeing them?

I send you a big hug!

We have good fortune of seeing a variety moving up or down the coastline at different times of the year.

Very exciting to see even it is only watching them blow or breach the water, perhaps one day a trip out to sea,for closer viewing.
