Just What We Expected.

Chelsea has been trying to get back to the devastating form that saw them get to the top of the league for many weeks and as expected, Chesterfield had no chance of halting them in this FA Cup tie especially at the Bridge.

Thomas Tuchel experimented with the team as expected and they got the job done phenomenally. Chesterfield knew they had no chance against beating Chelsea and that's no disrespect to them as a club but more of the quality of players at their disposal as Chelsea made sure of after they shuffled their packs at the start of the second half and during the game. A lot of exciting young players came into the fray and what a moment it was for them.

Chelsea had 5 different scorers as they put Chesterfield to the sword with a comprehensive 5-1 win with Chesterfield getting a consolation goal and you could see what it meant to the away fans as they celebrated wildly. Timo Werner, Hudson Odoi, Romelu Lukaku, Christensen and Hakim Ziyech all got on the score sheet with Asante grabbing the consolation for the away side.

Chelsea didn't waste any chance and wouldn't give room for any upset which was why they got on the score sheet in the 6th minute with Timo Werner having the simplest of goals with an easy tap in after Ziyech's ball across the face of the goal was deflected into his path and he scored. Hudson Odoi produced a moment of magic in the 18th minute after he drove in from the left side of the pitch to produce a curling effort that beat the goalkeeper for pace and accuracy.

2 minutes after, the forgiven man, Romelu Lukaku got in on the acts after Hall stole the ball and picked him out inside the box for another easy tap in that went straight underneath the goalkeeper. Hall could be said to have gotten his second assist of the game after his shot was fumbled by the goalkeeper and Christensen followed up with a looping header as the ball found the top right corner of the net before dropping into the net in the 39th minute to give Chelsea a far more comfortable 4-0 lead.

Pulisic rightly won a penalty in the 53rd minute which Hakim Ziyech stepped up to take. The goalkeeper managed to get a slight touch on the ball but Ziyech hit it low and hard which made it impossible to save as Chelsea completed the goals on their end; 5-0. Havertz would have been happy to get in on the acts too after he came in as a substitute and he was picked out inside the box for another tap in but the linesman picked him out for offside.

Chesterfield gave their fans something to cheer about after Kabongo Tshimanga's shot was blocked off by the goalkeeper but it came in the direction of Akwasi Asante who just guided the ball into the back of the net easily to bring the game to a 5-1 win for Chelsea.
