Evening Run

I just finished a 11.304km running that lasted about 0hh:54mm:28ss !

For various reasons, I took an extra rest day again, so today, running was a must. As usual, I failed to follow my plan, and ended up starting just after 7pm, and now with shorter days, that meant I only had about 15 minutes of natural light left. That's why I took again my visibility vest and headlamp, so I could run long after it was completely dark. Now that I found them, I might as well use them. At 72F (about 22 degrees Celsius), the temperature is still warmer than it should be for October in Michigan, and the humidity quite high over 80%. So, once again, it was a nice sweat.

From the beginning, I knew I didn't have the legs or energy for a fast run, so I decided to try and increase the distance, and go a bit slower than usual. But even then, it was a struggle! The urge to cut the run short was strong, and I'm glad I was finally able to reach 7 miles. Not too bad for a 'lazy' day. My cadence was even worse than usual though, and my heart rate was high, with an average at 173bpm! I guess that confirms what I was feeling.

I finally confirmed my registration for Detroit half marathon next week end (paid last year but it was cancelled in 2020), and it was too late to defer it to 2022. So I will most likely run it. This year I trained probably more than any other year I ran this half marathon, but never for long distance. My longest runs were around 8 miles and recently, it's more around 6 miles. So we'll see how it goes. I also need to think about adapting my training this week to get ready for the race one Sunday.

Keep Exhausting!

This path is not really long, it just connects between two areas of the neighborhood, and also leads to the entrance of the forest on the right side.
