I got home a companion

My heart was racing. What was happening? I ran very fast, adrenaline was rushing inside me. I was very close to shedding tears. I lived in a terrible neighborhood. We had pets that were left on the streets to suffer, living there with us. Among all the pets, or like I would like to call them, street animals, skinny was the one attacking people the most. Skinny like the name entails it was a skinny ass dog always scaring and intimidating people. Today, I was a victim. I had never ran so fast in my life. I got closer and closer to my house and finally I got in before skinny could lay its claws on me. Why on earth would a dog have an upper hand over me? Like wtf. I was already exhausted from work and skinny just made things worse. Well, I could really use a nap. I got to my bed after a lot of energy was expended. I couldn't even sleep. Today's experience was terrifying. I mean how? A dog! A grown lady like me. Two things were involved. It's either I got myself a car or I tamed skinny and the rest of his kind. Behind the whole act, you could tell that Skinny was a sweet dog. I slept off.

I woke up to the alarm.
'Oh my God! I'm going to be late for work'. I hurriedly had my bath, dressed up and got ready for work. My tummy was rumbling. I got to the kitchen, made scrambled eggs, toast and a cup of coffee. A typical breakfast for a single lady like myself. I rushed out my door then I remembered that skinny was still around and so I made my exit very silent. I literally tip-toed with my shoes in my hand till I got out of the neighborhood.

'Yes! Yes! Yes! I made it, I screamed. 'Oops'. Everyone was staring at me like I was mad. I put my shoes on and took a grand walk to work.

Work was as stressful as ever, but what was giving me more stress was the fact that I was going home soon. Going home was supposed to be very exciting, well mine was just disheartening. The mere thought of it, gosh!. I arranged my work space and set out for another evening of adventure. On my way back, I stopped by a shop to grab something to eat. A little voice in my head suggested I got some for skinny and his friends, at first I pushed the thought away but it became a big fight up there in my head and I eventually gave in. I got some extra beef. I had my dinner and started walking home. 'Even though I walked through the valley of the shadow of ahhhhh' skinny was after me again. I threw what I got for him on the alley and screamed ' I got you something skinny! You could either choose to keep chasing me or have dinner. I stopped and turned back. Skinny wasn't after me again. He was eating, hungrily. So that was it! It was just hungry and needed to eat.

Skinny looked cute when it was tamed. I could domesticate it, I said to myself. Would that be a nice idea? Would it even want to come home with me?. I walked home in peace after a long time. I got inside, freshened up and dozed off. The next morning, while making breakfast for myself I made some for skinny the cutie. He ran towards me fiercely as usual, I refused to panic. I slowly dropped the food on the ground. He stopped by the food spot and ate while I escaped and got to work without my shoes in my hands but on my legs. I was just so happy that I could tame skinny, I never knew it was that easy. I got into my office, glowing. After work, I followed the routine but I didn't forget to get some for skinny. When I got to the alley, skinny wasn't looking all fierce and ready to devour. He gently walked towards me. I wanted to run but I resisted. He came towards him, I bent down and rubbed his head. He licked my hands, it was so nice

'Good boy, look what I got you', I lifted the bag and swayed it in the air. 'Would you mind coming inside with me to have dinner?' It made a sound which I took as a yes so, I took it home with me.
I gave skinny a warm shower and gave it dinner while I ate mine too. We were a good match.
It was bedtime and I told skinny he could sleep with me today. Not like he understood, but all cool, I took it to my bed and it laid beside me.
