We Are Alive! November 6th, 2022 Raking Leaves

A warm day today, outside raking leaves. It's surprisingly warm for a November day. Yesterday the wind was very intense and our lights flickered several times. It blew the rest of the leaves off the trees, now we have to rake them all up and put them on the garden.

We're getting a lot done. My wife is reorganizing the Sukkot tubs. We found some mildew on the sleeping bags because we put them away while they were still damp. Thankfully they washed clean and are not ruined!

We had our weekly "pancake and shower day" getting all six children washed and fed. The pancakes were really good this morning, we are still able to purchase real butter (even though it's expensive) and eggs (also expensive), if we have to switch to a mix someday, then it is what it is. I hope we can still afford real ingredients in the future, they are much healthier for us.

There was a time when I was very poor and all I could afford was a bag of flour and a jar of jelly, I made whole cakes, just mix flour and water until you have the consistency of pancake mix and cook like a pancake. This was all I had and was thankful for it.

We are grateful for luxuries like pancake syrup and real butter - if a time comes that we eat only flour and water, we'll do what we must. Hopefully, there will be some better options, but we'll be thankful for whatever we have. I'm thankful you shared this story, it's a good reminder to be grateful every day, no matter the circumstances.

You had some work today with the leaves, my Sunday was normal, doing my online work and publishing my daily post, I am also resting, because last week I had a lot of work with some projects that I have to deliver tomorrow, in the evening I hope to see some good movie with my wife.
