We Are Alive! August 22nd, 2022 Green Apple!

Our apple tree is producing fruit for the first time. Even though the apple looks big and ready to pick, it's supposed to be yellow. So we have to be patient and wait another month or so before we pick this beautiful apple.

More than half of the apples have been stolen by squirrels, which is why we've been trapping them and relocating them. But there's one squirrel that we see with baby apples in his mouth. He doesn't even eat them, he picks them and hides them around the yard, like it's a nut!

We have a few apples left, hopefully this beauty will mature and we'll have at least one volunteer apple from our tree. Next year is the fruitful year!

We dedicate this year's fruit to the Most High, as we are observing a 7th year of rest for the land. Whatever comes up on it's own is fine for eating, but we did not plant or garden at all, other than some landscaping and weeding.

We gleaned half a mason jar of voluntary wheat berries this year.

Yes she does resemble her mother. She is our bouncy one, with a helium voice. The apple is a yellow delicious... Once it turns yellow, I bet it will be delicious!

There are similar green apples in the garden of my (soon former) rent (the government sold the house). Maybe not that big apples, but similar.

Naughty squirrel!

There are some "evergreen" apples 🍎 that never turn yellow, right? Hope that it won't be like that you are waiting for yellow apples and the squirrel is finishing off one after another!

It was suggested putting aluminum foil over the apples, so the squirrels can't identify them as apples.

I believe this will be fulfilled next year. We continue to expand our garden each year, it's going to fill the yard eventually!
