The Ongoing Saga of Grace Life Church

My previous articles on the subject of Grace Life Church can be found here and here.

The short version is that Grace Life Church in Alberta Canada continued meeting at their church building in spite of ministry of health restrictions. After giving a sermon on the limits of government, Pastor James Coates was arrested, but was released after 35 days with most charges dismissed. A few weeks later, after Easter Sunday, the building was confiscated and security fencing was place around the building.

The Pastor Gives His Perspective

Below is a segment with Pastor James Coates, describing his feelings on the situation that Grace Life Church has been experiencing. "They are taking on a fight that is way beyond them."

"The threat to Alberta is not Covid-19, but it is AHS.... we have met 37 Sundays without a single outbreak... we have demonstrated that AHS is weak and incompetent and I think we've embarrassed them richly."

We will Not Serve Your gods

When the three Hebrew boys refused to bow down to the statue of Nebuchadnezzar, the king summoned them and said "Will you not serve my gods, will you not worship the golden image that I set up?"

Their reply is a perfect example of them possessing the Kingdom of Heaven within them: "We have no requirement to answer you concerning this matter."

So confident were these boys in their refusal to worship the gods of Babylon or the image of Neduchadnezzar, that they inform the king that they don't even have to answer him when he asks these things. It's settled. Done. Then the boys continue:

"Should it happen, that we are heaved into the midst of the glowing flaming furnace, our God in Heaven, whom we serve, will deliver us from the glowing flaming furnace. He will deliver us from your hand, Oh King. But should our God in Heaven not deliver us from the glowing flaming furnace, we still will not serve your gods and we will not worship your golden image."

This is their "Liberty or death" statement. We will not give up our worship, we would rather die.
