O.K. now for the truth......

Today I had a rotten day, I woke up, was about to go out for a nice bike ride, when I realized my tire was flat.

So the day began... I was forced to go all the way down town to drop off the bike, on the way, there was trash everywhere, & it reminded me of a scene from one of my favorite movies, Idiocracy!

Idiocracy at the Central Maui Landfill!

Most of the trash is still overflowing from the Maui dump!

There are lots of old plastic bottles and bags that blew out from the dump, and got caught on the native trees,shrubs, and surroundings on the side of the road. Surprisingly no one has cleaned up around the Central Maui Landfill in all these years it seems, the trash jsut keeps building up. The pic below was taken of this area by another photographer, I happened to leave my camera at home today or I would have supplied the shots.

I finally made it to the bike shop, and it was like National Lampoons Great Adventure, it was closed!

I was super mad, however as I was leaving the bike shop owner happened to see me and took the bike, and said it would be a week until it's fixed! I guess because of Covid, he's really, really behind, but I guess a week is better than never!

After that I headed to the car wash, missed the turn and eneded up at the end of the road down by the beach, where there was a whole new homeless camp that sprung up!

Maui is now totally disgusting!

I've never seen anything so hideous on the island, besides the side of the road by the dump I had passed earlier just to get down town. If I were in charge I'd bulldoze that whole place into the ground in a few hours. I cannot believe the people in charge have let the island of Maui get so bad.

Finally I was hungry so I went to BurgerKing, ordered the Impossible Whopper, however there was a problem, someone sprayed perfume on the wrapper - making it impossible to enjoy??

I was so shocked that I contacted BurgerKing, I told the representative i would never eat at BurgerKing again, and you know what they did, they did, they gave me a $10.00 Crown Gift Card for my suffering so i'd have to go back to spend it!

I don't want to go down to town ever again after that last trip!

It was a #BAD-BURGER

I'm writing this post now, all sour, full with indigestion!

Maybe that's why this post is coming out so rotten, but everything can't always be picture perfect sunsets in paradise. Today seemed like the world was falling apart, at least it still looks nice from my deck! But don't let these pretty scenic pictures fool you, that trash mountain is slowly building it's way up to my back yard if this trend continues.

Maui Nō Ka ʻOi, more like ʻO Maui Ka ʻōpala ʻōpala ʻoi loa (Meaning Maui is the worst trash heap)

The Ancient Hawaiians would be apauld, rolling over in their graves, if they could see how the future of the islands were to unfold.

It was a bad day in paradise, & makes one wonder if this is paradise, then what must the rest of the world be like?
