No Get Out of Jail Free Card

Crime doesn't pay. It's also expensive when law enforcement in Kentucky and other U.S. states don't have enough evidence to charge you with a crime. Man is billed $4000 USD for being "housed" in jail. Worst bed-and-breakfast EVER!😞

Wait! They can do that?!

Man is billed $4000 USD for being "housed" in jail.

I thought Jail's price was the bad bed-&-breakfast inside of it, otherwise I thought it was completely free...

The video mentions that some jails charge and others don't. Maybe for some plea deals the housing fee(s) are waived; I am just guessing. I found an article that over here in the People's Republic of California copays for medical and dental services are no longer billed to prisoners. https://www.aclunc.org/news/california-become-first-state-stop-charging-copays-jails-and-prisons-after-governor-signs-new?fbclid=IwAR1HtnAd_a1pKXlimoveng7ZpVmpVg-oh-V6F7XPEWcO_SKUOocp4QUxz7Y

Apparently in 20 states there is also "supervision fees" for probation and parole. I guess everybody wants a piece of the action.
