Manchester City have won all their football matches since December 19, when they beat Southampton 1-0 away. This has led to advancement in both the EFL Cup, the FA Cup and the Premier League, where they are currently in 2nd place with 38 points and a match in hand.

In an interview with the Manchester Evening News, Guardiola explains that he believes the victory against Southampton in December gave them the confidence they needed in a rarely close league:

I think Southampton was one of the turning points in light of how difficult it was because Southampton were in formidable good form and we were able to beat them at a difficult stage. Since then, the team, Manchester City, has simply played better, Guardiola believes, and also adds that it is not only for the matches that progress has been made:

The team has slept better, eaten better, trained better and created the results we need to give us victory after victory.

The next time Manchester City will be in action is on Tuesday, where they meet West Bromwich away.
