Social media has became a very important part of our life and it won't be an exaggeration if I said that our lives are now become dependent on it and it is very difficult to live without internet and social media we use it for different functions and hence we need it but while living in this era of technology and internet we should be aware of of the crimes that we can be victim of on internet and one of those crimes is catfishing .

Catfishing is the act of pretending to be someone else to deceive people is to entangle them into fake relationships and later use them for own purposes. It refers to the practice of creating a fake identity by setting up a fake profile using someone else pictures and information.

Catfish is the process whereby they use someone's picture to defraud people or cause chaos.. In most cases the ultimate goal of of this malicious actor is to extract money or personal details from people by blackmailing them.

How can you detect a catfish ??🤔🤔

If you are sensible and you understand situations it is very easy to identify a catfish using some signs.

Reluctant to share personal information:
Even if a catfish steals pictures and identity it's still don't know the personal information and information about family so if someone home you know is is not sharing about some personal info that you already know about you should doubt that it could be a catfish.

Avoid video call and going live :

Catfish would definitely ee avoid video calls and coming in front of camera because obviously it won't let his identity reveal all over the internet and get cards so this could also be a key to identify whether it is a catfish or not.

Writing Expression :

You are often very familiar with the writing expression of your friends and family so if any e family member or friend is talking to you to and his writing expression is weight different from the usual one so it could be a sign of danger and you should snake into it that it could be a catfish trying to approach you.

Asking for money :
It doesn't very often happen that your friends or family ask you for money for no reason so when out of nowhere suddenly your any friend asks you for money e you should be cautious to transfer the money and I suggest you to check all the details and confirm the identity before sending the money.

How to Avoid a catfish :

By following some basic steps of cyber security you can avoid cat fishes very successfully and they are as follows ;

Stay Cautious :-

While talking to unknown persons be cautious about their approach and intention try to find out what they want by questioning tactfully.

Google sent images :

You should search the the images sent by any random user on internet on Google because it is not very hard how to take photos from internet and then send them anyone by mentioning those pictures as personal so in this way you can check that if they are fake or real.

Avoid random requests :-

Make sure that the person you are building a relationship with is not a fraud. Do some basic research about the person before accepting a random friend request for the more through research and basic details of that person these details are mandatory before you share your feelings or information with them so be aware of all that scenario.

Catfishing and cyber bullying go hand in hand as catfish impersonates someone else and it is intentional act like a cyber bully a catfish often exploits the emotions of people especially those who are emotionally vulnerable the victims are mostly those who have somehow expressed some kinds of their personal views and opinion online which have catch the attention of catfishes.

So from above all information I think it is totally e understandable for you that how much cyber security is important and we are using internet then it is our duty to analyse it and be aware of fraud and any kind of shameful act for which we have to regret later.
