This Life : A Freewrite

The rung of the ladder in an ecosystem is not where anyone wants to be. It’s a place of weakness, where one is easily overpowered by other species and unable to exert any influence on his surroundings. This is why the man should be at his feet. In this case, the man is not going to be the king of his castle. He’s going to have to share his castle with other people, and perhaps even have some of them move in permanently.

By doing so, he can create a much more diverse ecosystem that will allow him to thrive better than if he was alone or if he had only himself as company. It’s important to note, however, that the man does not need to be on top of the ladder. He simply needs to be out of his comfort zone and striving for something greater than himself.
