Seven matches had to be played before the first manager was fired in the Premier League. The promotions from Watford have chosen to fire Xisco Munoz after the 1-0 defeat to Leeds on Elland Road yesterday. The club has confirmed this on its website.

The club justifies the dismissal with the fact that recent performances have shown a very negative trend at a time when the coherence of the team should instead go in the other direction. Watford end their statement by thanking Munoz for the role he played in the promotion last season.

Xisco Munoz came to Watford in December last year after six months at Georgian club Dinamo Tbilisi. He managed to head the English club 36 times in the Premier League and The Championship. In the second-best row, it turned into 18 wins out of 26 possible and a promotion, while in the Premier League he has lost four out of seven matches, which means that the club is currently number 14.
