Manchester United must be said to have had a more than approved transfer window. The club brought in Jadon Sancho in Dortmund, Raphael Varane in Real Madrid and last but not least they brought Cristiano Ronaldo home to Old Trafford from Juventus. The vast majority of Manchester United fans are more than satisfied - but it is not the club's manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

According to the English media The Independent, Solskjær hoped until the last second of the transfer window that the club managed to get Declan Rice from the league rivals, West Ham. The Norwegian manager is reportedly a big fan of the midfielder and is frustrated that Rice did not become a Manchester United player.

The Manchester club has had problems in the 6s position in midfield, and Solskjær had appointed Rice to fill the gap, but the proposed transfer fee of 80 million was too much and the signing unfortunately for him and the club's fans never came to anything.

On Sunday, Solskjær and his Manchester United troops will face Declan Rice and West Ham in the Premier League.

22-year-old Rice has only represented West Ham at senior level and has already reached 150 games for the club.
