A Witch in the Kitchen: Delicious and Easy Baked Chicken [EN] // Una Bruja en la Cocina: Delicioso y Fácil Pollo Al Horno [ES]

Today I had to spend the day as a whole housewife and mother at 100%, my parents had to leave and I had to stay with My Mathias, so I have not even had time to look at the computer, let's say that from time to time a day like this does not hurt, although I am so used to my life here that I missed it. Today I also had to make the whole lunch, which was a challenge, because I had really enough time that I could not tolerate so much time in the kitchen, however, it was a test overcome. To accompany white rice and some delicious baked bananas, I thought of making a good baked chicken that never ceases to be delicious and that adapts perfectly to my dysosmia since it does not require excess vegetables.

I think that one of the easiest recipes that can exist, without a doubt, is the baked chicken, whether we make it roasted or in pieces on a bed of potatoes, as in this case I did today. Besides, I needed to make a recipe that did not deserve my constant attention in the kitchen, because Mi Mathias is one of those kids that we cannot leave alone for 5 minutes, so let's say that this recipe came to me like a ring to the finger, and the truth is that it has been a while since I prepared something like this for my people, I think they deserved it (that and more) for taking care of me all this time.

As I already mentioned, it is a very easy recipe to prepare, and it requires very few ingredients, basically what we are going to use are spices and seasonings, so that our chicken will be good tasting and very juicy. Come with me and I will show you how to prepare it.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium sized chicken, chopped and skinned.
  • 3 big potatoes.
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp of soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup of milk.
  • 1 tablespoon of mustard
  • 1 Tbsp of sugar
  • 3/4 Tbsp of salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp of ground cumin.
  • 1/4 Tsp of spicy paprika.
  • 1/4 Tsp of turmeric powder.
  • 1/4 tsp of ground black pepper

    Preparation

    • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
    • Cooking time: 60 Minutes

To begin in a bowl we add the spices, soy sauce and milk, and blend to integrate.

We continue adding the mustard and integrate it well, add the chicken and stir, take it to the refrigerator covered for about 15 minutes. While we are cutting our potatoes in slices of about 4 millimeters thick, we put them in the bottom of a baking dish.

After 15 minutes of marinating the chicken, we put it in the oven dish with the potato base, and we add the remaining liquid from the marinade. We take it to a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 60 minutes, or until it is well cooked, remember that all ovens are different.

The spicy paprika and turmeric help our chicken get that nice color when we take it out of the oven, besides adding its delicious flavor, I sincerely had my doubts when preparing it because it is too easy, but it is a great option for when we cannot keep an eye on the stove. Best of all, I was able to enjoy a good movie with Mi Mathias while the chicken was cooking. Ideal for a lunch or a good dinner accompanied by steamed vegetables.

Looks and sounds like it really is an easy and delicious meal @fmbs25.
I was curious about the reference to Dysosmia which according to that link,
Involves a distortion of the sense of smell. 😕
I've also never had a baked banana, but since I love them, I'm sure I would enjoy that as well.

Dysosmia, in fact, is the distortion of the sense of smell that directly affects taste. About a month ago I started to recover my sense of smell after overcoming covid, however, it has returned to make me suffer, because all the smells have become unpleasant for me, realize that food usually smells like rotten onions to me, so it makes it difficult for me to eat as well as to cook.

On the other hand, yes, this is certainly a very easy recipe to prepare, and thank God I've been able to taste it properly!
