Oh NO! Not AGAIN!!!! (and more shiny!).....My Actifit Report Card: December 27 2022

Welcome to today’s blog! What a day!

Oh, NO! Not AGAIN!!

Well I’ll be sharing some shiny from my #silvergoldstackers Secret Santa 🎅 here in a moment, but first……

Last night, watching the 1984 classic, A Christmas Carol, starring George C. Scott, around 9:30-bang! Out goes the power AGAIN!! It was just raining-not really blowing; no ice; no snow. We just looked at each other and I exclaimed, ‘ are you kidding me?!’ I reported it to the utility via text message, but there was no ETA even up to when the power came back on this morning around 11:30! At least it got restored. I’m hoping we miss out on round three as I have work tomorrow!!

Now! Back to the shiny!😁

I received a package from my Secret Santa 🎅 that has been patiently waiting under my tree. I opened it today.

My Santa friend left no clues as to their identity. Inside was this box.

I then opened it to find…..

In my household, one can never have too many coffee cups! ☕️☕️☕️😁

Inside the cup was another favorite of mine, along with a sweet Austrian Philharmonic!

The obverse shows the Great Organ of the Golden Hall in Vienna’s concert hall. It’s marked 1.5 Euros as well as the year 2015. Just above that is one ounce fine silver and along the top republic of Austria.

The reverse shows an array of instruments including the viola, cello, harp, bassoon and the Vienna horn.

I will keep it in the air tight Santa sent it in.

This was a nice end to a day that had been somewhat stressful. We ended going to the grocery after hitting the post office. No mail has been delivered since before the ice storm to either the houses or the PO Box! I have a couple MIS Amazon orders. I also hear that our mail route no longer has a carrier as she was injured. I hope she heals quickly from whatever the injury was. I’m guessing ice injuries as it truly was crazy!

Anyway, tomorrow is back to work and I’m sure it’ll be nutty 🤪

So sorry your power went out again! All day today I have been fearing the wind was going to rage again, but so far it’s been OK. I am over winter though. Bring me sunshine and peaceful weather again!

I wonder if you will ever draw @silvertop in secret Santa or if he will draw you? That would be a hoot!

I am hoping we are done with the weather as well AND the power outages.

If we did, it would be very interesting. I could see mailing it to someone to help me out so the post mark would not be obvious! I doubt Welshie would do that......at least I don't think so! Take care! !LADY🤗💜🤗

Last year in October, we lost power during that month alone - 7 times! There are trees here-big trees and they aren't always strong due to wind storms, the elements and bugs like termites. Maple trees are not known for strength of wood, therefore, when a storm blows in, it often blows the trees down. All of the utilities are above ground on poles so falling trees= downed power lines. It will never change because the power company will not invest in underground utilities.

Yeah. Back then I thought United States has their electric lines underground. It's selective.

Here, electric companies will cut the power without any clear reasons. Lol

I live in an off-grid intentional community in the jungle, so I most definitely know the frustration of power outages very well, and the challenges of keeping an off-grid electrical system functioning.
