Smoke Gets In My Eyes.........My Actifit Report Card: September 10 2022

Hey everybody and thanks πŸ™ for stopping by today! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ”₯πŸ’¨πŸ’¨πŸ’¨

Smoke gets in my eyes! I’m not kidding! We woke up to the acrid smell and taste of smoke in the air today. Yesterday’s smoke was bad enough. Todays is putting us at an unhealthy 187 on the air index scale! I remember getting up around 4 Am and was drawn to the light through the loft’s window. It was an eerie orange full moon πŸŒ™ colored this way because of the smoke. My eyes πŸ‘€ burn as does my nose πŸ‘ƒ and even my throat! It is no fun to be out in!

We headed for church β›ͺ️ this morning for a ministry planning retreat. Lots was discussed so there will be some changes and new things happening. 😁. Afterwards, we stopped by my favorite local roadside stand. It’s pumpkin πŸŽƒ season!πŸ˜πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

You can see the smoke. πŸ’¨ It is thick and everywhere!

The start of this year’s pumpkin πŸŽƒ collection 😁

Later after I roasted coffee β˜•οΈ for us, we headed to town. This was the view as we left home. Normally, it’s beautiful and crystal clear

We are originally from Ohio, and during tornado πŸŒͺseason when a tornado πŸŒͺ was about to strike, the sky got this funny greenish look πŸ‘€ to it. This is similar to how our sky looks πŸ‘€ now but with a little brown mixed in.

Washington smoke blog gives is a map showing what’s going on. We have a fire πŸ”₯ on the western side of the Cascade Mountains. There are fires in Oregon as well. All are contributing to our smoke πŸ’¨ filled skies due to the winds.

They are saying this should clear in the next day or two. I am hoping it does for all of our sakes!

That’s gonna be it for now. Take care and please continue to pray for Ukraine πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦

From my viewpoint, you can NEVER have too many pumpkins, lol! I am totally ready for fall and for me that is now through November. Then I'll be ready for the Christmas season after that. The last 4 months of the year have always been a favorite! Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Take care! !LADYπŸ’œπŸ€—

So hazy! I hope it gets totally extinguished. I couldn't live with smoke because of asthma. Anyway, those pumpkins made me feel better.

Unfortunately, the smoke is even worse today. The fire that is affecting this is south of us and grew from just a fire to one over 15,000 acres in 2 days! Scary!! As we headed to church this morning, we found ash from the fire on our car!

As for the pumpkins-yes they are great to look at. I tend to collect anywhere from 10-20 of them each year as I just like to display them for myself in the yard and enjoy seeing them when going out or coming home from work. I've done this for years, lol!

Take care my friend and have a lovely day!

Scary. Will it last until winter? That's surely be difficult having those smokes. Keep safe.

It is possible the fires will continue to burn until on towards November. It will depend on the weather and the rainy season. I pray for a quick end to it all for the year, sooner rather than later. Take care my friend!

Aww. Around two months still to wait. Hopefully it will finally rain there. Not the torrential ones though

No torrential rains for sure! That brings another problem and this one is in our area-flooding! It's a long story, but if we get the rains we did last November, I could either get stranded at work or we could be kept up on the hill as the town floods. The town where our church is.....well let's just say the handicap entrance was used as a boat ramp and the church sanctuary flooded for the first time since it was built in 1913! Yep, no torrential rains needed here! Take care!

Too bad. I thought you are not experiencing floods there. We have them a lot!

Our flood time is coming in the next month or two and will last potentially through March of the new year. It all depends on the rainfall. The river is shallow and wide. They won't dredge it as it's needed because of laws protecting the fishing rights of others. I get that, but protect the fish and not the lives of people? Seems a bit off to me, but I don't make the rules.

I hope that neither you all, nor we, are affected much, if at all this year! Take care!

Aren't those months used to be winter? I never thought it rains there during winter.

Winter in the Northwest, can be tons of rain; sometimes snow; most often wind storms and almost always, 6+ 'nor'easters! Nor'easters are storms that come from the north east and can contain, freezing winds, blowing snow (not always accumulated snow, though) and cold, cold temperatures. We have seen 4+feet of snow in the recent past, and if what they call 'the pineapple express' arrives, (warm subtropical airflow) then it's rain, wind and more rain! Sometimes the wind storms are the worst as we have such big trees all around. They fall, the power goes out sometimes for days. We have solar power as well as grid power, so only our well is really affected. However, it's hard to shower with no water! Last October, we lost power 7 times in the month! It was kind of crazy. Just stick around.....it's never boring, that's for sure! Take care my friend!

Oh. I never thought you have such kind of weather that's so intense. Keep safe as that season is coming.
In our country, we used to have around 20 typhoons (hurricanes) per year. But of course, not all of them visits one place. We may have typhoon this month, another coming but it will pass to another place. At times, one or two typhoons will pass in one place. If it will not take the path of our region, there will be monsoon rains. It can be a week of continuous rain causing floods. Flood control is pretty bad here. Even high tide will cause flood in some villages. Earthquakes are also common here. We had a strong one few months ago.

Sounds like our weather an your's has similarities except your's is warmer! We've had some interesting tides here as well that have flooded areas. We are high enough and far away enough that the tide doesn't affect us. It's the river that poses most of our flooding issues, but again, our home is high enough, it doesn't reach, but I work in town where it is an issue. We will have to see what the coming months bring. In the meantime, I hope the typhoons pass you guys by, and if they don't, please be safe!

Oh those pumpkinsπŸŽƒ really look so colourful, the different shapes and sizes. yeah, we love pumpkin soup here too. At the sales, is there like an award for a farmer with the largest pumpkin?
πŸ₯ΊI'm not comfortable with this forest fire and smoke. I agree the smoke alone is dangerous. please stay safe SisπŸ«‚β€οΈβ€οΈ
