My Actifit Report Card: January 7 2022

Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by!

So the snow saga continues with it continuing to rain all night last night. I expected to see less snow on the ground and was surprised to see it hadn’t made much of a dent in it. @silvertop went out as I was getting ready to go to work, to check the ‘ice’ status of the car and the roads. Much to my surprise, he said it’s seriously slushy. No real ice. Just puddles of slush that look harness enough but stepping in them could find you ankle deep in it! 🙀

I headed out taking care not to get pulled by the slush into a ditch. Our road had so much, it dragged the underbelly of the car! It was to steadily drop in temperature all day and I knew if they didn’t get our road plowed, it could destroy the car. @silvertop was going to keep an eye out and call the county if necessary.

Work was busy and productive; I got 99.5% of everything done. I was still glad to see the end.

After work, I headed to the bank, grocery, and the post office and then home.

Tonight, we plan to relax and then see what we might want to do. A hike might be nice…….when was the last time I actually got out to do that?🧐. Check out @silvertop’s post as he did venture out while I was at work and came upon new mountain lion tracks!🐾 😽

Speaking of baby mountain lions……here was ours last night in front of the fire. He was out for the count!

That’s gonna be it for now. Take care and watch out for the cougars!👣🐑🐾☕️☃️🤗😴

His name is Cot, short for Cotton. We jokingly call him our 'baby mountain lion'. Yes, we really do have cougars here where we hike. We take precautions and have studied what to do, should we have an encounter. If you take the average domesticated kitty and watch their behavior; how they play, how they eat, what they do, and then take that and multiply it. 1000 times, you have a cougar! Open an umbrella in a room with your kitty and they will run for the hills! With a cougar, I think the same reaction would happen; you need to make yourself big, and shout the word 'no' in a deep manly voice. Never squeal or scream. We also carry bear spray that shoots 30 feet and we carry a 9mm each. That would be a last resort, of course as it would make me sad to hurt one, but if it's me or them, then.......

Take care my sister and much love to you as well!💜🤗😻

Wow Amazing how much knowledge you've got at hand. Great, I've learnt something new too🤗
Yes i hope it doesn't get to the point of using the 9mm and surely i'll chose you both over them, hence.........
LOL
Takecare too Sis, love you back🤗💜

Did clients actually come to our business yesterday? Do a lot of people live close in town and not out on crazy, scary roads like you? Haha

Yes, @violetmed, they did come! I was kind of surprised as well, but there are a few people who like the adventure I guess. There are plenty of scary roads around here; our road has a reputation because of the hills we have. From bottom to top, there are 6 hills and 5 of the 6 are over a 4% grade (check out railroads and grades, and you'll see how steep a 4% grade is!). It is an old logging road and they often cut them the shortest way to the top rather than being logical and doing switchbacks. Most logging trucks can't do a typical switchback, hence the reason straight to the top! Crazy! Take care my friend and thanks for stopping by!
